Antony Carter

Mid-West Regional Director

Antony is a product of the south side of Chicago. He was born and raised in the Roseland community and has been immersed in music from the very beginning. He grew up in church singing harmonies in an acapella worship service where bad notes were not tolerated and could not be hidden by musicians. Antony took piano lessons from the age of five and soon began to play the trumpet, drums, and saxophone. At 13 years of age, Antony scored one of his original compositions by hand and by the time he was in high school he had expanded into writing, recording and producing his own music. In high school, Antony joined his first band as keyboard player, song writer, and singer. The band was called Intimacii.

Their band was very popular among Antony’s peers. It was here that the desire to be a musician for life was stamped on Antony’s heart. Later as an adult, Antony was a radio show host of “Determined To Rise” on Soul 106.3 for 3 years. On his radio show he interviewed such stars as Chaka Kahn, Monique, and his show debuted the Yes We Can: Voices of a Grassroots Movement CD in Chicago. This was a collection of songs compiled for, then candidate, Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. Antony has written gospel and R& songs for many artists and recorded 3 CD’s of his own as well as his current project EP project, For Love.
