Edgar Patterson Davis is an accomplished independent filmmaker from Washington, D.C. He attended graduate film school at the Howard University School of Communications and studied under the tutelage of famed Ethiopian filmmaker Haile Gerima, his mentor and friend. After earning his MFA Degree in Film, Davis proudly served on faculty in the Department of Radio, TV and Film as Assistant Professor for seven years. Before leaving Howard and D.C., Davis completed two award winning short films: his graduate thesis film “A Jury of Her Peers” tells the story of a mother who reflects on the last year of her son’s life, while she is serving on a jury and his second “B-Movie” is a political parody that deals with several conspiracy theories surrounding the Nation’s Capitol. Currently residing in Los Angeles, Davis has worked extensively in post production.
He was Post Production Supervisor on the sitcom “One On One” on the now defunct UPN Network as well as Post Production Supervisor for the Season 2 of “Weeds” on the Showtime Network. He now works for Disney ABC Network Group. Adding to his many film accomplishments, Davis completed his first feature, entitled “The Good Neighbor Policy” in 2010 where it premiered in The Hollywood Black Film Festival in Los Angeles.
